Salary: £40,319 to £52,303 (Dependent on Experience)

Are you an experienced and qualified Design and Technology Teacher looking for a new role within a growing education provision in Blackheath, London? Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated Design and Technology lessons across KS3-Post-16, covering Product Design, Food Preparation and Nutrition, Life Skills cookery, and Multi-Trade (woodwork).
- Assess, monitor, and report on student progress, maintaining accurate records and setting clear learning targets.
- Manage classroom behaviour effectively, creating a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment.
- Develop curriculum materials, contribute to schemes of work, and support departmental planning.
- Collaborate with colleagues, support staff, and external partners to enhance learning and vocational opportunities.
- Undertake pastoral responsibilities, including acting as a form tutor and supporting student wellbeing.
- Contribute to the wider school community through enrichment activities and whole-school initiatives.
- Adhere to safeguarding, health and safety, and equal opportunity policies.
- Participate in meetings, professional development, and performance management processes.
About You
- Excellent subject knowledge and understanding of Design Technology across Product Design, Food Preparation and Nutrition, and vocational qualifications including Multi-Trade (woodwork focus).
- Ability to plan and deliver engaging, differentiated, and well-structured lessons across KS3-4 and post-16 Life Skills cookery.
- Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to maintain a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to liaise with students, parents, carers, and colleagues.
- Proficient in using a range of assessment methods to monitor student progress and inform future planning.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and a willingness to share best practice with the wider school team.
- Willing to submit an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Check (DBS).
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant qualification/experience.
- Complete Child Protection Training. Promote and safeguard the welfare of all children and young people they are responsible for, or come into contact with.
