Salary: £37,913-£50,032 (MPS Outer London)

The PWR team at Teaching Personnel is proud to partner with a thriving secondary academy in Orpington to recruit a talented Design and Technology Teacher to join the team full-time or part time from September 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity to teach across Key Stages 3–5 in a well-equipped department with strong leadership and a clear commitment to innovation and student success.

About the Role:

As a Design and Technology Teacher, you will deliver a creative, engaging curriculum that encourages students to think independently and solve real-world problems. You’ll work in a supportive department with access to excellent facilities and contribute to shaping an inclusive, forward-thinking learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Teach Design and Technology (DT) across KS3 and KS4 (subject specialisms welcome)

Plan and deliver dynamic, practical lessons that promote technical knowledge and creativity

Contribute to the development of innovative schemes of work and curriculum resources

Assess, track and report on student progress, identifying intervention needs

Promote health and safety awareness in workshop environments

Collaborate with colleagues to enhance cross-curricular learning and enrichment

What We’re Looking For:

QTS and a degree in a Design & Technology-related subject (e.g., Product Design, Engineering, Resistant Materials, Graphics)
Experience teaching DT in a secondary setting (KS3 & KS4 essential)
Knowledge of health and safety regulations in practical subjects
A commitment to high expectations and inclusive teaching
Excellent organisation, communication and teamwork skills
