Job description

Job title: Design Allocator

Start date: ASAP - Subject to Vetting
Duration: Up to 12 Months
Pay rate: £27hr PAYE
Location: Seascale, Cumbria
Hybrid/Remote Working: Hybrid working available
Hours of work: 37 to 40 hours per week

Role information:
- The Design Allocator is responsible for reviewing, verifying, and documenting standard passive fire protection solution allocations while ensuring full compliance with ASFP and manufacturer guidelines.
Qualifications/Experience Required
- Minimum 3+ years in Passive Fire Protection
- ASFP Level 2 (IFE Certified)
- IFC Manager Level
- Conduct the Stage 1 Peer Review of passive fire protection allocations, ensuring compliance with PFPF, ASFP and manufactures requirements.
- Review, validate, and approve all standard passive fire protection allocations from Trainee Solution Allocators.
- Ensure technical accuracy of allocated solutions in compliance with ASFP guidance, manufacturer specifications, and project fire strategies.
- Collaborate with manufacturers to confirm the validity of assigned solutions and approve minor modifications to standard details where required.
- Maintain accurate documentation of design allocations and compliance records in the Design Tracker.
- Escalate non-standard cases requiring an Engineering Judgement (EJ) or Technical Assessment (TA) to the Senior Solution Developer.
- Undertake annual manufacturer training to remain at the forefront of passive fire protection technology.
- Undertake BIM and CAD familiarisation training for enhanced model-based solution allocation.
