A healthcare institution in East Midlands is seeking a Teaching Fellow in dermatology for a 12-month fixed-term role. The appointee will support medical education and provide clinical service, including outpatient and surgical sessions. MRCP and NHS experience are essential. The UHDB Dermatology department, based at Florence Nightingale Community Hospital and the Royal Derby Hospital, is a busy department with 8 Dermatology Consultants, 2 Associate Specialists, and a team of Specialist Registrars, GP Hospital Practitioners / Specialty Doctors, and Specialist dermatology nurses.
This post offers a 50% Teaching Fellow appointment for a fixed-term of 12 months, until August 2026. The appointee will work at Florence Nightingale Hospital and the Royal Derby Hospital, undertaking duties for the Directorate of Medical Education and Workforce.
Essential requirements include MRCP and NHS experience.
Four programmed activities per week will support Undergraduate Medical Education teaching and administration. The role includes two service delivery sessions (a dermatology clinic and a surgical session) to gain postgraduate dermatology experience, along with a dermatology CPD session and clinical administrative time. Opportunities to see dermatology ward referrals are available.

Responsibilities include developing and delivering dermatology teaching clinics and practical skills, teaching medical students, contributing to service delivery, assessments, examinations, university collaborations, and supporting student development and education activities. The role also involves participating in CME and CPD activities, annual appraisals, and undertaking an MMedSci in Medical Education.
