A local healthcare organization is seeking a 50% Teaching Fellow for a fixed-term appointment until August 2026. The role involves supporting undergraduate medical education and performing dermatology service delivery sessions at two hospitals. Essential qualifications include MRCP and NHS experience. The UHDB Dermatology department, based at Florence Nightingale Community Hospital and the Royal Derby Hospital, is a busy department comprising 8 Dermatology Consultants, 2 Associate Specialists, a team of Specialist Registrars, GP Hospital Practitioners / Specialty Doctors, and Specialist dermatology nurses.
This post is a 50% Teaching Fellow appointment for a fixed-term period of 12 months, until August 2026. The appointee will work at both Florence Nightingale Hospital and Royal Derby Hospital, undertaking duties for the Directorate of Medical Education and Workforce.
MRCP and NHS Experience Are Essential for This Role
Four programmed activities per week will be allocated to support Undergraduate Medical Education teaching and administrative duties. The role includes two service delivery sessions—one dermatology clinic and one surgical session—to gain postgraduate dermatology experience and skills, along with a dermatology CPD session and clinical administrative time. Opportunities to see dermatology ward referrals will also be available.
