The post holder will ensure safe care is provided to patients at Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust, offering specialist Dermatology advice and support to patients, relatives, carers, and healthcare professionals. They will provide clinical expertise to the Dermatology team, acting as a role model in patient care delivery.
The role involves working closely with and supporting the Dermatology and multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, patient-focused care. The post holder will assist in monitoring and maintaining policies, staff, and service development within the department.
Responsibilities include supporting, supervising, and teaching staff within the specialist area, always acting in accordance with the NMC Code of Professional Conduct and Trust policies. Ensuring patient safety, managing patient care, and adjusting treatments within protocols are key duties.
The post involves assisting in nurse-led clinics, providing specialist nursing advice, and working collaboratively with other professionals in primary and secondary care settings. The practitioner will carry out highly visible clinical practice within a designated patient group as part of an MDT.
Additional duties include teaching multidisciplinary teams, patients, and families, promoting evidence-based practice, and adhering to Trust policies. The role also involves leading or participating in audits, research, and policy development related to the specialty.
Other responsibilities include triaging patient referrals, utilizing non-medical prescribing, maintaining accurate records, managing risks, and working independently and as part of a team.
