Job description

Position: Nurse Prescriber - Dermatology

Location: Cumbria and Lancashire

Rate: Depending on Experience

Part time: 1 - 2 Days per month, Approx 16 Hrs per month

Clinic Locations available:

  • Morecambe Bay
  • Blackpool
  • Fylde & Wyre

The purpose of the role is to assist the clinical team in the service and delivery of the dermatology service of the local population. The post holder works under indirect supervision of the clinical team and undertakes tasks and duties delegated by the clinical team or a suitably qualified regulated professional. They will work collaboratively with the clinical team to meet the needs of patients, following policy and procedures while providing supervision to more junior staff.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Alert other team members to issues of quality and risk in the care of patients
  2. Ensure own actions are consistent with clinical governance systems
  3. Practice in accordance with agreed standards of care
  4. Enable patients to access appropriate professionals in the team
  5. Ensure stock items under your control are ordered and available for use
  6. Know how clinical governance affects the PN role and bring to the attention of more senior staff any specific risk situation
  7. Be able to manage your own time effectively
