Job summary

Confidential, a leading UK law firm, seeks a Derivatives & Trading Paralegal to support hedge fund launches and complex financing transactions. You will work closely with partners and senior lawyers, gaining significant client exposure and international experience.

You will contribute to onboarding, post-launch workstreams, regulatory updates and documentation while developing toward a Training Contract for high-performing individuals.

Qualifications

• Paralegal or financial services experience preferred.
• Interest in derivatives, trading, hedge funds or financial markets.
• Excellent organisational and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the launch of new hedge funds and onboarding processes.
• Manage post-launch legal workstreams and ongoing client requirements.
• Support the negotiation and execution of trading and financing documents.
• Assist with regulatory implementation projects and legal updates.
• Conduct legal research on derivatives, trading and market practice issues.
• Liaise with clients, brokers and counterparties globally.
• Monitor transaction progress and ensure key deadlines are met.
• Prepare, review and organise legal documentation and correspondence.
• Work with partners and associates on complex transactions.
• Support business development and client relationship activities.
• Maintain detailed records and transaction trackers.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across jurisdictions and time zones.
• Assist with ad hoc legal, regulatory and transactional matters.
• Gain exposure to sophisticated financial products and structures.
