Job summary

Wintermute is seeking a Legal Counsel - Derivatives to support its rapidly growing derivatives business and expansion into traditional financial markets, with a focus on OTC derivatives. You will work with senior legal colleagues, traders and risk/compliance teams across jurisdictions to negotiate and implement master agreements and related documentation.

You will deliver pragmatic, commercially aligned advice, contribute to projects outside OTC derivatives, and help shape approaches balancing

Qualifications

• Qualified lawyer in England and Wales with 3-5 years' post-qualification derivatives experience.
• Training at a Magic Circle firm or leading US/international firm is preferred.
• Experience negotiating ISDA Master Agreements and related documents (credit support, confirmations).
• Experience documenting OTC derivatives (swaps, options, forwards) across asset classes.
• Familiarity with prime brokerage, custody, and clearing documentation is desirable.
• Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines in a high-performing environment.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate and draft ISDA Master Agreements and related documentation.
• Negotiate directly with counterparties and their counsel.
• Conduct legal and regulatory research for derivatives across jurisdictions.
• Provide practical, commercially focused legal advice.
• Engage in other legal projects as needed beyond OTC derivatives.
