Job summary

Balfour Beatty is seeking a Warehouse Operative to join our Asset & Technology Solutions team in Derby. This hands-on role supports the processing, maintenance, storage and distribution of specialist plant and equipment used across our projects.

You will inspect, test, maintain and dispatch equipment, keep accurate stock records, and provide excellent customer service. The position offers flexible working options and development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience in a stores, warehouse or equipment environment.
• Strong time management and attention to detail.
• Good communication with internal and external stakeholders.
• Awareness of health and safety requirements.
• Flexible approach to working hours.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Support the day-to-day operation of the department.
• Process equipment bookings, stock movements and requisitions.
• Inspect, test, calibrate and maintain equipment.
• Pick, pack, load and unload equipment for transportation.
• Ensure equipment is stored, identified and tracked.
• Complete paperwork and system updates on time.
• Support annual stock takes and inventory control.
• Maintain housekeeping standards in stores.
• Comply with health, safety and environmental requirements.
• Provide cross-functional support as required.
