Job description

The firm is investing in real estate to support expansion, business synergy, workplace uplift, 5 days a week work in the office, and new businesses, translating into an unprecedented book of work across the region. The Global Real Estate Project Management team is responsible and accountable for the successful delivery of UK projects. We lead with passion and commitment to get things done, implementing best practices, a business mindset, market acumen, while thoughtfully managing risk and control agendas. Must have excellent skills in programming, and good working technical & engineering knowledge related to building construction, building codes, and regulations.

As a Deputy Design and Construction Project Management Head and Sub-region (UK) Senior Project Manager in the Global Real Estate department, you will manage, in conjunction with key partners, the delivery of workspaces anchored on wellness, sustainability, flexibility, culture, and hospitality. You will also develop, nurture, and manage teams. Be Deputy to the Regional D&C head for project support and regional strategic initiatives, ensuring consistency and best practices across all project-related activities in EMEA. Manage the entire lifecycle of a construction project, including due diligence, programming, design planning, procurement, construction, reporting, quality control, and cost management to meet project objectives—budget, schedule, quality, and business requirements.

Job responsibilities:

  1. Create a strategy for the execution plan, incorporating market nuances, best practices, resourcing, procurement, etc., to achieve optimal outcomes in timing, cost, and business objectives.
  2. Lead technical due diligence efforts in collaboration with transaction, engineering teams, and other stakeholders, aligned with project, business, and resiliency goals.
  3. Manage the engagement of consultants and delivery suppliers, including GCs, furniture providers, and specialized trades, in collaboration with procurement partners and internal experts.
  4. Support the preparation of bid documents, scope definitions, technical and commercial reviews, and implement programs for more efficient procurement.
  5. Understand the business and program manage planning and design closely with the Region Head, Sub-region program/location head, and external stakeholders to ensure milestones, commercial, and business goals are met.
  6. Oversee contractors and suppliers, manage risks, and ensure site safety programs are effectively implemented.
  7. Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and compliance with standards and regulations.
  8. Collaborate with partners to deliver workspaces focusing on wellness, sustainability, flexibility, culture, and hospitality, aiming for certifications like LEED and Carbon Zero.
  9. Act as the program integrator with CAO and Technology partners, managing technical and integration meetings.
  10. Ensure PM Web is the single source for project data, reporting, and approvals, managing projects in line with compliance controls and processes.
  11. Prepare monthly reports, monitor ACR vs. budget, manage design/construction changes within budget, and ensure timely financial closure.

Required qualifications, skills, and capabilities:

  1. An undergraduate or professional degree in construction, project management, engineering, or related fields.
  2. Extensive experience managing all phases of corporate construction/fit-out projects and leading multiple complex projects simultaneously.
  3. Experience as internal project managers within a corporate real estate organization, with exposure to EMEA markets.
  4. Direct experience in commercial architecture, interior renovation, workplace planning, programming, project management, strategic planning, building construction, life safety, and building codes.
  5. Proven fiscal accountability throughout the project lifecycle, including post-occupancy.
  6. Ability to provide excellent client service and ensure project profitability.
  7. Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and relationship management skills to solve problems and conflicts effectively.
  8. Strong programming and space planning skills.
  9. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and industry-standard project management tools.
  10. Excellent oral and written presentation skills.
