Job summary

Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Deputy Waste Manager to oversee the waste contract, reporting and compliance, aligning with NHSE&I requirements.

You will support sustainability plans, including Net Zero Carbon and Green Plan, and develop business cases for service changes tied to savings and regulatory needs.

This role requires managing procurement, budgeting for non-pay expenditures, and presenting proposals to senior management and estates staff.

Qualifications

• Experience managing waste contracts.
• Budget-holder for contract non-pay expenditure.
• Experience supporting sustainability plans and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Manage all directly procured Waste contracts. contract not procured through main PFI contractors.
• Act as budget-holder for contract non-pay expenditure and ensure financial targets and SFIs compliance.
• Support development, implementation and review of the Trust’s strategic waste plans as part of Net Zero Carbon initiative and Green Plan.
• Analyse products for sharps containment and disposal, and provide recommendations based on compliance and risk.
• Communicate complex information and present proposals to Board, senior managers, contractors and estates staff.
