This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced registered nurse who wants to develop clinical knowledge, leadership skills, and experience as a Deputy Ward Sister / Charge Nurse.

Mill Lodge is a 14-bedded Specialist Unit caring for patients diagnosed with Huntington's disease. Huntington's Disease is a rare, inherited condition that causes the progressive degeneration of nerve cells in the brain. It impacts a person's movement, thinking (cognitive), and psychiatric health.

This role offers a challenging yet immensely rewarding area of mental health nursing. To succeed, you should be enthusiastic, forward-thinking, and emotionally resilient. You will work within a supportive multidisciplinary team (MDT), caring for patients with a complex, degenerative condition. The role also provides opportunities to develop skills in both mental health and physical health nursing.

Job Description Summary (Main duties and responsibilities)

The successful candidate will demonstrate core values of Compassion, Respect, Trust, and Integrity in all aspects of their work.

You will provide clinical, managerial, and educational leadership to a team of registered and unregistered nursing staff, taking an active role in developing ward initiatives to improve care.

In the absence of the Ward Sister, you will be responsible for managing the ward, ensuring smooth daily operations, and maintaining ward standards and systems.
