Job summary

BCUHB North Wales is seeking a Ward Manager to support the day-to-day operation of the ward, cover in the ward manager's absence, and promote high quality mental health care in line with NMC guidelines.

The role includes supervising junior staff, caseload management, and working within a multidisciplinary team; Welsh language ability is desirable and applications in Welsh are welcome.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Ward Manager in delivering the day-to-day running of the service, including ensuring the ethos of the service is conducive to patient care.
• Take charge of the day to day Clinical and Nurse Management of the ward in the absence of the ward manager.
• Cover for the Ward Manager and foster harmonious working relationships within the Multi disciplinary team.
• Oversee the assessment of care needs and the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care in a multi disciplinary setting, with minimal supervision.
• As a Keyworker to a group of patients, carry out all relevant forms of care, which will involve caseload management of a number of clients, and caseload supervision of staff at lower grades.
• Supervise junior staff and teach qualified and unqualified staff.
• Be part of the unit duty nurse rota for day and night shifts.
• Speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
