Job summary

Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 6 Deputy Manager to support the Clinical Team Manager on Austen Ward (Hollins Park) and Bridge Ward (Brooker Centre). The role involves balancing managerial and clinical duties within a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, safe and effective care.

The post holder will demonstrate resilience, problem-solving and strong interpersonal skills, with a focus on coaching leadership, continuous quality improvement and patient-centred planning

Qualifications

• Lead and support the ward under the Clinical Team Manager and maintain professional standards.
• Provide high-quality clinical and managerial support to the team members.
• Coach leadership style and promote quality improvement across services.
• Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to balance managerial and clinical activity.
• Ensure safe, person-centred care and active involvement of service users and carers.

Responsibilities

• Assist in delivering high quality safe and effective care on Austen Ward/Bridge Ward.
• Promote and implement integrated care pathways and appropriate service user referrals.
• Ensure accurate record keeping in line with Trust standards and policies.
• Support the Clinical Team Manager with supervision and professional development of staff.
• Contribute to service transformation and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
