An exciting opportunity has arisen in our 22-bedded neurological/elderly rehabilitation unit, on Beech ward.
We are looking for a Band 6 Deputy Ward Manager to join our team. You will assist in leading our dedicated team in providing expert patient care and rehabilitation. If you are looking for a challenge, this could be the role for you.
The post holder is responsible for delivering all aspects of patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care programs. You will supervise junior staff and be able to teach both qualified and unqualified staff.

Clinical/Professional Duties: Develop assessment, care plans, and delivery. Ensure infection control standards. Report concerns about ward cleanliness. Collaborate with families and social care for safe discharges. Advocate for patient rights and dignity. Discharge patients per policy. Provide various levels of patient care.
Communication Skills: Handle conflicts professionally. Maintain accurate records. Promote team approach. Represent the Trust positively.
Education and Research: Participate in training and orientation. Teach junior staff. Demonstrate advanced nursing knowledge, especially in elderly care. Keep skills up-to-date.
Managerial Responsibilities: Support ward management with leadership. Follow policies. Assist with staffing and change management. Participate in projects. Monitor care standards. Attend meetings. Advise on staff and environment issues. Minimize risks and manage controlled drugs.
Finance and Resources: Understand budgeting to use resources efficiently.
Information Management: Conduct audits, ensure accurate records, and adapt to IT systems.
Confidentiality: Maintain strict confidentiality of patient and staff information, respecting Caldicott principles. Breaches may lead to disciplinary action.
This role is subject to DBS checks under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions Order 1975).

Salary: £37,338 to £44,962 per annum, plus 5% HCA allowance.
