An award–winning independent mental health hospital in East Sussex is looking for a dedicated Deputy Ward Manager to join their team and help lead exceptional patient care across acute and private service areas.
Key Responsibilities:Provide strong clinical and operational leadership on the ward
Ensure a high standard of mental and physical healthcare for all patients
Support junior staff and promote ongoing development through supervision and mentorship
Lead and manage staff on shift, ensuring effective team coordination and patient safety
Contribute to care planning, risk assessments, and report writing
Maintain compliance with relevant legislation, including the Mental Health Act
Play a key role in staff recruitment, retention, and service improvement initiatives
Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with valid NMC registration
Excellent clinical skills and knowledge of evidence–based mental health care
Confident in leading shifts and supporting less experienced colleagues
Skilled in risk assessment, care planning, and statutory reporting
Understanding of CQC standards and Mental Health legislation
Committed to professional development and reflective practice
