An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Band 6 Deputy Ward Manager to join our gynaecology team looking after gynaecological and surgical patients on the ward, Early Pregnancy Unit and on the Emergency Gynaecology Assessment Unit. This will provide an excellent foundation in this speciality for the interested individuals either at the beginning of their career journey or someone looking for career development.
The successful applicant needs to have an interest in women's health, have excellent communication skills and work well within a multidisciplinary team.
The ward aims to provide a high standard of care and are committed to continual service improvement within the speciality. The ward is a 22 bedded ward and care is provided to patients receiving gynaecological and female surgery.
Some experience of working within a gynaecology setting would be an advantage, though this is not essential as full training and support will be provided.
Candidates should be forward thinking, be able to demonstrate good clinical and assessment skills and able to manage the team in the absence of the ward manager. The ability to support the ward manager in managing the ward in a fast paced and challenging environment; to demonstrate excellent communication, decision-making and motivational skills along with patient centred care are essential qualities for this post.
You will need to demonstrate continuing professional development and have an understanding of how to improve and provide safe, quality care for patients and their relatives.
