Job summary

Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced nurse/ward leader to take responsibility for the Hyper Acute Stroke Unit. You will assess care needs and implement evidence-based programmes in the absence of the Ward Manager.

You will supervise, support and educate junior staff, act as a role model, and ensure safety for patients, staff and visitors while contributing to ward assurance and audits across the MDT.

Responsibilities

• Assume responsibility for management of Hyper Acute Stroke Unit.
• Assess care needs and implement evidence-based programmes in absence of Ward Manager.
• Supervise, support and educate junior team members.
• Act as a role model to the team.
• Ensure and maintain patient, staff and visitor safety.
• Hold site bleep responsibility.
• Ensure safeguarding and patient safety within the ward.
• Contribute to ward assurance and audit.
• Collaborate with the wider MDT to maintain high standards of care.
• Ensure safe staffing levels and assist with duty rosters.

• Ensure team and patient safety-including safe guarding
• Contribute to ward assurance and audit
• Work with the wider MDT to ensure high standards of effective patient care
• Ensure safe staffing level, contribute to off duty
