Job summary: Working as a Ward Sister to provide effective patient care whilst working as a member of the nursing team across East Kent Hospitals NHS Trust. To ensure the maintenance of high standards of patient care in response to service needs.

Main duties of the job include: Venepuncture, Cannulation, ECG, Verification of Death, IV Drugs and HLS, good Communication skills. Facilitating Staff development and empowerment. Negotiation. The ability to converse at ease with patients, doctors and relatives, and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.

Person Specification:

Qualifications and Training:

  • Degree in Nursing
  • NMC
  • Preparation of mentors or equivalent

Clinical Skills and experience:

  • Venepuncture, Cannulation, ECG, Verification of Death, IV Drugs and HLS.
  • Facilitating staff development and empowerment
  • Negotiation Skills
  • The ability to converse at ease with patients, doctors and relatives and provide advice in accurate spoken English
