Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for one enthusiastic and highly motivated Band 6 Deputy Ward Manager to join our ENT and Surgical Ward. You will be a highly skilled nurse with excellent clinical knowledge and you will demonstrate excellent care and an understanding of how the Trust values translate to everyday practice. We are committed to improving patient experience and welcome applicants who can demonstrate positive achievements in patient care. The role is for full-time hours with a flexible pattern over seven days, including nights. Applications are welcomed from Band 5 nurses seeking leadership progression. This is a developmental role with support and training offered to the right applicant. A willingness to undertake additional study and personal development is imperative. All applicants with relevant experience will be considered. You will be required to attend a face-to-face interview for this role.

Qualifications, Specific Experience & Training

Essential criteria

  • 1st Level Registered Nurse (relevant to area of work)
  • Relevant diploma / degree or due for completion within 12 months
  • Minimum of 18 months post-registration experience, of which 6 months should be at Primary Nurse or equivalent

Desirable criteria

  • Management experience
  • Recognised teaching qualification

Knowledge and Skills

Essential criteria

  • Relevant Clinical knowledge/experience of the specialty

  • Student nurse assessor
  • Evidence of ability to act as a preceptor/mentor to new staff
