Overview

Dexerto is looking for a Deputy TV & Movies Editor to help lead our coverage of the biggest shows and films. This is a senior editorial role for someone with strong experience writing and editing digital content. You’ll support the TV and Movies Editor in managing day-to-day output, ensuring high standards across the section, and stepping up to run things in their absence. You’ll lead by example with a keen eye for breaking stories, standout headlines, and search-friendly content. You’ll also manage posting content on social platforms to drive traffic and engagement.

A key part of the role involves using your industry contacts to gain early access to shows and movies, attending junkets and screenings, and producing original content such as interviews, reviews, and exclusives. You should be comfortable covering a broad range of genres, including superheroes, fantasy, horror, action, anime, and true crime.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Writing and editing breaking news, reviews, features, and evergreen content
  • Assigning stories and supporting writers with ideas and feedback
  • Subbing and improving copy, maintaining quality and consistency
  • Running the section when the Editor is away
  • Attending junkets, press events, and screenings in London when needed
  • Posting and scheduling stories on social media platforms, especially Facebook and X
  • Monitoring trends and analytics to help shape daily coverage
