About the Role

We are looking for a highly motivated and commercially aware Deputy Treasurer to join our Treasury Finance Team at Next plc Head Office. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in managing the Group’s treasury operations, supporting strategic financial decision-making, and ensuring robust risk management in a dynamic retail environment.

As Deputy Treasurer, you will report to the Group Treasurer and lead the day-to-day treasury function, helping to optimise cash flow, manage banking relationships, and support funding, liquidity, and foreign exchange strategies across the business.

Key Responsibilities

1. Support the Group Treasurer in the development and execution of the Group’s treasury strategy.
2. Lead daily cash and liquidity management activities, ensuring efficient use of funds across the business.
3. Manage relationships with banks and financial institutions, negotiating terms and maintaining compliance with facility agreements.
4. Oversee the Group’s FX and interest rate risk management, including hedging strategies and policy adherence.
5. Support debt issuance, refinancing activities, and covenant reporting.
6. Ensure treasury operations are aligned with internal controls, regulatory compliance, and best practice.
7. Work closely with internal finance, tax, legal, and commercial teams to support business initiatives and capital projects.
8. Lead, develop, and mentor junior members of the treasury team.

About You

1. A qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or ACT-qualified treasury professional.
2. Significant experience in a corporate treasury function or financial institution, ideally within a listed company.
3. Strong knowledge of cash management, financial markets, FX/IR risk, and banking products.
4. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
5. Effective communicator with the ability to build relationships across functions and senior stakeholders.
6. Confident using treasury systems and financial tools (e.g., Bloomberg, TMS, Excel).
