An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Deputy Test Manager to join an established ICT Test Team to ensure all testing activities are effectively managed and tested according to the defined test strategy and approach prior to release into the live environment.
Working alongside head of testing, you will be involved in recruiting, mentoring and managing a large team of junior and senior testers besides creating test strategies, plans and test reports for various clinical systems. Ability to work independently under high pressure and commitment to continuously deliver to tight deadlines is required.
You will have strong knowledge of various Oracle Cerner EPR applications. You will also have good demonstrable knowledge of software testing methodologies and should be an ISTQB certified tester or have equivalent testing experience. Knowledge of integration is highly desirable.
You should have previous experience of working in a senior test lead role with extensive experience of leading testers and managing multiple test projects or activities. Strong stakeholder and communication skills are essential to succeed in this role.
Though primarily based at Paddington, you will be expected to cover and travel between all the NWL ICS sites depending on the need.
Main duties of the job
The ICT Test Team plays a pivotal role in ensuring that all changes and implementations are rigorously tested to identify and eliminate any software issues thereby reducing the clinical safety risk. This role is critical to ensuring that NWL Oracle Cerner domain is clinically safe and does not adversely impact patient safety. This is a very busy team involved in multiple projects, changes or issue fixes and so you will need to be proactive, enjoy every daily challenges and can tactfully handle stressful situations.
Test department and manage end users of varying skills in delivery of quality assurance of all software applications used by the Trust. The Deputy Test Manager will provide the technical knowledge and maintain the trust-wide software and system testing framework which supports quality assurance of trust applications.
• Contribute to the design of test strategies for new and updated software systems (including the Patient Administration System) within the trust and manage their execution.
• Planning and organisation of a broad range of complex testing activities including hands-on scripting and testing of CR/RFCs as required.
• Implement efficient and economic processes and methods for system testing.
• Manage and develop ICT Test department consisting of a core permanent set of testers supplemented by contract and temporary staff as workload demands.
• Assist the Head of Testing in managing various external supplier contracts and services
