Job description

This post is a key member of the Talking Therapies Operational Management Team, responsible for supporting operational management, including effective leadership and supervision of a designated geographical area.

The post holder will support the Team Manager in ensuring the service is developed in accordance with National guidelines. They will retain a small caseload (ideally 40% of a full-time contract, subject to service needs) and deliver high-quality psychological interventions to clients with complex anxiety and depression issues.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Supporting the Team Manager in project work and leading initiatives where appropriate.
  2. Representing the service area at local meetings in the absence of the Team Manager.
  3. Providing strong visible leadership.
  4. Supporting the introduction of new business management strategies.
  5. Ensuring staff clarity on expectations and fostering successful team collaboration.
  6. Promoting a culture of empowerment and accountability for service improvement.
  7. Developing and implementing reporting arrangements within the service area.
  8. Reviewing workforce needs to ensure appropriate staffing levels and expertise.
  9. Ensuring staff provide optimum quality of care.
  10. Supporting the adoption of best practices aligned with Trust objectives.
  11. Promoting a culture of governance and risk management as everyone's responsibility.
  12. Ensuring safety is central to planning, analysis, and delivery.
  13. Implementing systems to record and monitor governance and risk information.

This role is NHS AfC Band 7.
