Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a suitably qualified and experienced Registered Nurse in the District Nursing Service.

The applicant must be a Registered Nurse, confident and competent in a wide range of clinical skills, and demonstrate evidence of continuing professional development.

The role requires a flexible approach to work and the ability to travel between sites in a timely manner.

This challenging role involves providing care for patients outside of the hospital environment. The post-holder will be supported by a friendly and enthusiastic team of staff.

The position is initially based with a District Nursing Team in the Rhondda area, but you may be asked to work anywhere within the Rhondda, Taff Ely areas to meet service needs.

Welsh Skills Desirable: This post is advertised as Welsh Desirable, meaning it is an advantage but not essential. Candidates do not need Welsh language skills, but speaking and listening skills at Level 3 (CEFR B2) or above are preferred, enabling basic conversations with patients about their health.

The post holder will support the Team Leader in managing multi-disciplinary/multi-agency care packages for patients with complex and palliative needs, both scheduled and unscheduled.

You will assist the Team Leader by utilising effective management and leadership skills, delegating clinical activities to appropriately skilled team members, and ensuring efficient service delivery.

You will also be responsible for prioritising home visits based on clinical need and geographical location.
