Role:
The Deputy Site Security Controller, responsible to the Site Security Controller for supporting the management and maintenance of NG UKL security policies in relation to NG UKL’s HMG customer certifications at Burlington House, New Malden and any other locations determined by the NG UKL UK Security Manager, in support of the business.

Key Responsibilities:
• Support the security management of the NG UKL facility in its relationship with HMG stakeholders to ensure maintenance of the required certification.
• Work to the NG UKL security assurance and compliance policies and procedures, proposing actions and changes as required.
• Assist with communications of NG UKL’s security policies.
• Liaise with vetting to maintain a register of clearances with access to the facility.
• Support the completion of regular HMG compliance questionnaires.
• Maintain internal relationships to promote best practice security standards, fostering an environment that drives appropriate risk control behaviour.
• Assist with awareness training for security requirements within the business.
• Manage and maintain:

  • Risk Management and Accreditation Document sets for the facility.
  • Security Management Plans
  • Security Operating Procedures.
  • The effectiveness of Security Controls.

• Ensure the NGUKL Security Incident Management process is followed for the timely identification, evaluation and recording of non-compliance and information security risks, escalating as required.
• Support the NG UKL visitor process.
• Understand and interpret HMG project-level security requirements and assist with the control implementation for NG UKL projects and programmes.
• Contribute to internal and external audits.
• Maintain current knowledge of industry best practice in relation to security governance, risk & compliance.

General Operational duties:
• Attend Security team and cross-departmental meetings as required.
• Remain compliant with all applicable NG ULKL processes and procedures.
• Will involve travel to other UK Facilities.

Essential Qualifications/Experience:
• Completed DISA Security Controllers course.
• Experience of security controls in a MOD capacity, for FSC compliance.
• Experience of developing security policy and standards.

Desired Qualifications/Experience:
• Relevant HMG security certifications
• Managing defence security awareness at business level

Competency/Skill requirements:
• Excellent current knowledge of security standards (e.g. Cabinet Office Security Policy Framework, ISF Standard of Good Practice for Information Security, relevant JSPs and DefStans)
• Adept at problem-solving, with attention to detail.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, able to engage effectively with all audiences/stakeholders.
• Proactive team worker, equally self-motivated and able to work autonomously.
• Strong customer orientation.
• Highly-organised, proficient at workload management, prioritising appropriately to meet deadlines.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.
• An engaging and ‘can do’ attitude, able to influence opinion and decisions.
• Competent in PowerPoint and face-to-face presentation delivery.
• Strong integrity and resilience.
• Strong understanding of privacy requirements (including DPA 2018, GDPR).

Other requirements:
• Travel requirements: some national travel may be required to attend team and customer meetings and training activities.
• Clearance requirements: Must be able to maintain UK Government clearances at highest level.
• Provide cover for the NG UKL Deputy Security Manager at the facility level as required.
