Job summary

Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Deputy Sister/Charge Nurse for the Older People’s Medicine ward. You will support the Ward Sister/Charge Nurse to ensure safe, compassionate care for patients with complex medical and frailty needs.

You will lead clinically, mentor staff, and take charge in the ward’s absence, upholding the hospital’s PRIDE values in a collaborative, inclusive culture.

Qualifications

• Experience in older people’s medicine or frailty care.
• Strong clinical leadership and staff development skills.
• Ability to work in a high-pressure hospital environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional, clinical and managerial leadership on Dunston Ward.
• Take charge of the Ward in the absence of the Ward Sister/Charge Nurse.
• Support staff development and promote safe, person-centred care.

An exciting opportunity has become available to join the Dunston Ward team as a Deputy Sister/Charge Nurse specializing in Older People's Medicine. As a key member of the ward leadership team, you will support the Ward Sister/ Charge Nurse in ensuring the delivery of safe, person-centered care to patients with complex medical and frailty needs. You will act as a clinical role model, providing visible leadership and supporting staff development within a positive and collaborative environment., To be responsible for promoting and implementing practice conducive to the development of high-quality patient care, by providing professional, clinical and managerial leadership. To take charge of the Ward in the absence of the Ward/Departmental Sister/Charge Nurse and provide support and guidance to all staff. To support the delivery of a high quality, safe and compassionate healthcare service, all staff are expected to act as a role model to others in all aspects of their work and consistently demonstrate NNUH's 'PRIDE' values of People focused, Respect, Integrity, Dedication and Excellence and demonstrate behaviours that support and encourage an inclusive culture.
