An exciting opportunity has arisen for a deputy sister/charge nurse to join our friendly, highly motivated, dynamic and hard-working Emergency Gynaecology team on AGTU at QMC campus of NUH.

A passion for the delivery of high-quality care is essential for supporting the needs of our patients. As a band 6, you will be required to demonstrate the ability to lead and motivate others and deputise in the absence of the senior leadership team.

  • You should have excellent interpersonal & communication skills
  • Ability to manage the clinical area or ward efficiently and effectively
  • Able to contribute to the development, implementation and monitoring of local objectives and action plans
  • Ability to make decisions and perform well under pressure
  • Work collaboratively with external and internal colleagues to ensure patients are managed in line with SDEC principles.
Main duties of the job

This deputy sister/charge nurse role is essential to provide the safe and effective running of the AGTU clinical area. Working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team, your role will involve providing direct care to patients as well as providing strong clinical leadership. It's essential you are empathic to the emotional needs of the women and their families attending GTU. You will be expected to provide expert knowledge of gynae and early pregnancy complications on a 24/7 basis, working all shift patterns including nights.

This post is suitable for staff who have emergency gynae and early pregnancy knowledge and experience. You must be confident and clinically competent to manage all areas of the service on a daily basis.

  • Level one Adult NMC registration
