Position Summary:

Position: Dual Ticketed Journeyman Plumber

Type: Full Time

Location: CNRL Horizon - Pressure & Vac / Firewater Division

Schedule: 7 on/7 off

Compensation Details:

1. Vacation pay at 6% - paid out bi-weekly upon start date

Role Summary:

The Firewater Tech role consists of but is not limited to:

1. Conducting Preventative Maintenance of Fire Hydrants and various Water-Based Fire Protection Systems
2. Perform Corrective Maintenance (repairs) to Water-Based Fire Protection Systems
3. Replace assets
4. Working in deep (12-20’) underground installations & repairs
5. Working in Confined Space, elevated platforms, structures…
6. Working outdoors 100% of the time
7. Working with and around equipment such as Telehandler, EWP, loaders, excavators, HydroVac
8. Conducting Flow tests of assets (energize, de-energize and winterize)
9. Installing contingencies

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Maintain great attendance, punctuality and fit for duty
2. Adhere to company and site rules, procedures and expectations
3. Conduct pre-use inspection of vehicles, tools & equipment as well as upkeep the conditions
4. Complete Field Level Risk Assessments and all other HSE requirements prior to starting tasks.
5. Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine layout of system
6. Report to Supervisor on shift
7. Measure, cut and install pipes using tools & equipment
8. Test pipes for leaks using air and water pressure gauges
9. Assemble and install valves (2” to 24”) and components.

Education & Experience Required:

1. Dual Ticketed Journeyman Plumber; Candidates must possess both a Journeyman Plumber Ticket and an additional related Journeyman Ticket.
2. Some Water-Based Fire Protection System experience preferred and previous oil sand industry experience would be a benefit
3. Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
4. Clean 5 Year Driver's Abstract Obtained within 30 days of Start Date
5. CSO (Common Safety Orientation) or equivalent safety ticket
6. WHMIS 2015
7. Good mathematical, scientific, mechanical and logical reasoning abilities
8. Must be well organized and detail-oriented, able to follow instructions and clear orders, enjoy working with a range of different people each day, and have strong mechanical skills.
9. Physical stamina required to use proper lifting techniques and execute tasks.
10. Must be able to stand, crouch and kneel for extended periods of time, sometimes work in cramped positions
11. Must have a safety conscious attitude
12. Ability to work well with co-workers and deal with clients
13. Ability to get along well with others on a work team
14. All applicants must have the ability to speak, read and write fluently in English.
15. Must be clean shaven
