Job summary

Cavendish School in Eastbourne is seeking a Deputy SENCO – Secondary to join our all-through campus. This 37-hour post is full-time but term-time only with a pro-rata salary range of £34,146–£36,446, fixed term until 22 July 2027.

The ideal candidate will be committed to working with young people, possess strong organisation and communication skills, literacy and numeracy, and have Teaching Assistant or equivalent experience.

Qualifications

• Be committed to working with young people.
• Excellent organisation and communication skills.
• Good literacy and numeracy skills.
• Previous Teaching Assistant or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• To implement a work programme for individuals/groups including specialist areas.
• To provide support for pupils and staff to raise standards and promote independence.
• To manage workload of teaching assistants and assist in staff induction/mentoring.
• To assist in school planning and resource preparation.
• Create strong relationships with children to support their personal, social, emotional and academic development.
