Reporting to the Security Manager, the Deputy Security Manager will oversee security operations across the Waterloo Campus, associated residences, and other campus areas. They will serve as the primary contact for Security Supervisors, assisting the Security Manager and leading the security response and team management for the Waterloo Campus security team.
The postholder will ensure that all security staff demonstrate high standards of conduct and customer-centric skills. This will be achieved through effective leadership, support, and guidance. The Deputy Security Manager is expected to maintain a visible presence on-site, addressing issues proactively and providing expert advice to ensure exceptional service delivery.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the security industry, particularly in demanding, high-footfall, and multi-site environments. They should possess proven incident and critical security management skills, a customer-focused approach, and strong team leadership capabilities. Experience working with Unions and knowledge of HR matters are highly advantageous. Excellent communication skills are essential due to extensive stakeholder engagement.
