Bolton Council seeks a Deputy Schools Finance Manager to join their Schools Finance Unit. Ideal candidates will be Qualified Accountants with experience in financial management and statutory reporting within the education sector, contributing to a strong financial framework for local schools.
Grade J - £44,711 - £48,710 per annum.
Contract: Permanent, full-time.
Role specifics: Candidates must be a Qualified Accountant (CCAB Body by Examination) with two years post-qualification experience.

As a key member of the Schools Finance Unit management team, you will be responsible for delivering various statutory requirements within the education finance portfolio. This includes monitoring and reporting, completing government returns, and managing funding systems for Early Years and SEN funding.
You should have a demonstrable understanding of accountancy and financial management, along with excellent communication skills. You will need to deliver efficient finance systems, respond to changes and new legislation, and possess networking and influencing skills to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including schools and private providers.
