Job description

Deputy Room Leader – Where Every Day is an Adventure!
Location: Locks Heath
Hours: Full-time | Salary: Competitive

Are you ready to step into a role that’s more than just a job? We don’t just care for children—we inspire, nurture, and ignite young imaginations. We’re on the lookout for a dynamic, fun-loving, and organised Deputy Room Leader to join our incredible early years team.

In this role, you’ll be the heartbeat of the room, supporting the Room Leader and occasionally stepping into their shoes. You’ll be part of the management team, helping ensure the smooth, joyful, and safe day-to-day running of a room filled with laughter, learning, and love.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Leading exciting activities that bring the EYFS curriculum to life.

Ensuring every child receives outstanding care, endless encouragement, and a sprinkle of magic each day.

Supporting staff, mentoring key workers, and guiding your team to create an environment where both children and practitioners thrive.

Creating a stimulating, safe, and inclusive environment where every child’s voice is heard and celebrated.

Handling the day-to-day: staff briefs, break schedules, room planning, and keeping everything running like a well-oiled (but super fun) machine.

Working closely with parents, carers, and professionals to ensure every child gets the support they need.

Safety First, Always:

You'll champion cleanliness, health & safety, and safeguarding—because every child’s wellbeing is our top priority.

Be the go-to person in the room for upholding top hygiene standards and emergency procedures.

Grow With Us:

As a leader, you’ll support and mentor staff and students, help develop training plans, and always be looking to improve your own skills with ongoing CPD.

Be a role model for a nurturing, inclusive, and development-focused approach.

Why You’ll Love It Here:

A supportive, passionate team that feels more like family

A workplace where creativity and kindness lead the way

Opportunities for progression and regular training

Plenty of giggles, hugs, and proud moments
