The Registration Service plays a part in some of the most important moments in the lives of our residents. We are looking for a highly motivated individual to be part of our team at an exciting time as the sector continues to transform and modernise.
As the deputy manager, you will be part of the service’s management team and work closely with the manager to lead a professional team and drive standards in the delivery of our services with a particular emphasis on business support functions.
With a comprehensive knowledge of registration law and practice, you will hold the role of statutory registrar, ensuring that registrations are completed in accordance with legislation and the requirements of the General Register Office.
Together with the manager, you will maintain a focus on statutory compliance, quality assurance, technical expertise and attainment against KPIs. Ideally, you will have experience of operational planning and diary management in registration and the drive to develop a positive workplace culture, focused on performance, learning and improvement.
You will communicate effectively with customers, colleagues, partners and other stakeholders recognising the sensitive nature of the service and have a diplomatic and tactful approach towards problem solving.
In a service where no two days are the same, you will be capable of responding effectively to immediate service demands whilst delivering longer term projects and legislative changes.
The successful candidate will be based at our Register Office in the Civic Centre, Ridley Street, Redcar, however, you will need to be able to travel across the borough to deliver ceremonies at a range of Approved Premises so must hold a full and valid driving licence and have access to your own transport. You should be flexible in your approach with some weekend and out of hours working required.
