ENG Bauen has been supporting a leading international EPC as they grow their UK-based project management team to deliver high-profile, complex capital projects in the energy sector.

We are seeking a Deputy Project Manager to play a key role in supporting the delivery of critical work packages within a high-value nuclear project. As a Deputy Project Manager, you will work closely with the Project Manager, ensuring the successful delivery of key work packages and contributing to the overall execution of the project. Your role will be integral to managing and coordinating various aspects of this complex project within the nuclear sector.

The Role

1. Deputy Project Manager for a major nuclear new build project
2. Assist in managing the delivery of key work packages, ensuring all milestones are met on time and within budget
3. Collaborate closely with the Senior Project Manager to oversee project planning, coordination, and execution
4. Support in the management of project risks, ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory standards
5. Lead and coordinate project teams across various disciplines to ensure seamless project delivery
6. Ensure effective communication with stakeholders, including contractors, vendors, and clients
7. Travel between the UK, Germany, and France as needed to support the project's international scope

The Person

1. Experience as a Deputy Project Manager or Project Engineer in an EPC/EPCM or engineering environment
2. Proven ability to manage complex projects, ideally within the nuclear sector or similar high-stakes industries (Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Pharma, etc.)
3. Strong background in Mechanical/Piping Engineering, with experience in managing multidisciplinary teams
4. Exposure to the full project lifecycle, from conceptual design through to construction, commissioning, and handover
5. Proven track record of delivering EPC/NEC projects, with strong knowledge of project management methodologies
6. Ability to manage project budgets, schedules, and resources effectively
7. Excellent communication and leadership skills to manage internal and external project stakeholders
8. Native English speaker required; proficiency in German or French is highly desirable
