The role

As a Deputy Procedure Authorisation Group Chair, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. This role ensures the safe and effective refitting of nuclear submarines by upholding the highest standards of nuclear safety, leadership, and procedural excellence

Day-to-day, you’ll oversee the authorisation of nuclear procedures, support submarine refitting operations, and ensure compliance with safety cases, while promoting a strong safety culture and providing expert leadership across teams.

  • Review and authorise nuclear procedures to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards
  • Provide technical oversight during submarine refitting and maintenance activities
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of plant safety cases and manage change requests
  • Promote a strong safety culture through leadership, mentoring, and employee engagement
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to align on safety and operational goals


This role is full time, 35 hours per week is based on site at our Devonport site.

Essential Experience Of The Deputy Procedure Authorisation Group Chair

  • Review and authorise nuclear procedures to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards
  • Provide technical oversight during submarine refitting and maintenance activities
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of plant safety cases and manage change requests
