Job summary

Harris Hill is assisting a well-established children's charity in London to recruit a Deputy Play Manager. This full-time role focuses on leading a high-quality play program, managing enquiries and fees, and supporting safeguarding and Ofsted compliance.

You will deliver engaging activities with children aged 4-11, supervise staff and volunteers, and help create safe, inclusive play environments across our schemes.

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualification (or above) in Playwork, Early Years, or a related field.
• Minimum of three years’ experience working directly with children aged 4-11.
• Strong understanding of EYFS and Ofsted requirements.
• Experience planning and delivering engaging, age-appropriate play activities.
• Confident leading active, outdoor or adventure-based play.
• Sound understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
• Excellent communication and team leadership skills.
• Strong organisational and IT skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, deliver and evaluate a high-quality programme of activities for children aged 4-11.
• Support the Play Manager in day-to-day operations, including enquiries and fee collection.
• Lead and develop play staff, volunteers and ensure safeguarding and health & safety compliance.
• Create safe, inclusive and stimulating play environments in line with Ofsted requirements.
