We are recruiting for a well-known childcare company that prides itself on being an inclusive, play-based provision. Their goal is to provide children with high-quality care and play experiences, supporting personal development by learning new skills through a variety of enriching activities that are inclusive to all children who attend.

Deputy Manager Role

Deputy Managers assist the Manager in the day-to-day running of the club and deputise in the absence of the Manager. They organise, plan, and participate in play and leisure activities for children before and after school, as well as during school holidays. They are also advocates for children’s play.

A little bit about you…

  • NVQ Level 2 in Playwork/Childcare or equivalent training
  • Strong leadership qualities
  • Previous childcare and/or Playwork experience
  • Ability to build positive and professional relationships
  • Caring and sensitive to children’s individual needs
  • Good knowledge and understanding of Ofsted Welfare Requirements, including EYFS
  • Active, energetic, and willing to engage in children’s play
  • Understanding of Playwork Principles
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Team player with initiative
  • Flexible, reliable, and critical thinking skills
  • Problem-solving ability and a proactive attitude
  • Prepared to train and learn new skills
  • Good IT skills

Additional requirements:

  • Current Paediatric First Aid certificate
  • Food Hygiene Level 2 or 3
  • Basic safeguarding and/or DSL training
  • Valid driving licence
