Job Description:

We are recruiting for a Deputy Nursery Manager for a permanent full-time and term time only role within a small (30 place) preschool setting in Garstang.

In your role as Deputy Nursery Manager, you will join a small team of Early Years Professionals supporting preschool children.

What you can expect for the Deputy Nursery Manager role in Garstang:

• Up to £11.77 - 12.10 per hour (may be negotiable for right experience)
• Hours usually 8:30 am - 5:30 pm, with some flexibility (e.g., 8:30 - 4:30 or 9:30 - 5:30)

Requirements of the Deputy Nursery Manager in Garstang:

• Hold a minimum Level 3 childcare qualification
• Senior-level experience in an early years setting
• Experience leading a team within an early years setting
• Good communication skills
• Good knowledge of the EYFS

Duties and responsibilities:

• Actively promote and support the protection of children and young people, ensuring staff and volunteers observe nursery policies to keep children safe.
• Help lead and support staff to implement the EYFS.
• Monitor and evaluate practice within playrooms to support improvements.
• Work with parents/carers to achieve full integration of children in the nursery.
• Foresee the needs of children, families, and staff, providing wellbeing guidance as needed.
• Support staff and lead a high-morale team.
• Liaise with and support parents/carers and other family members.
• Promote the nursery's high standards to parents, staff, and visitors.
