Job Description:

Deputy Nursery Manager - SE24 - £29,000-£30,000

This setting is looking for a full-time, qualified Practitioner to join our Early Years Team as a Deputy Manager. Located less than 10 minutes' walk from Herne Hill station, with convenient transport links to London.

Role Details:

  • The role will be partly office-based and partly room-based, with active involvement in the nursery, not purely administrative.
  • The nursery caters to children from 3 months to 5 years old, operating from 7 am to 7 pm, 51 weeks a year.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and implement engaging activities for children aged 3 months to 5 years
  • Lead and develop the nursery, contributing to its growth and success
  • Assist in daily operations, financial management, recruitment, and staff training
  • Partner with the Nursery Manager to ensure high standards of care
  • Follow EYFS and Ofsted guidance, ensuring appropriate provisions and resources
  • Communicate effectively with children, parents, and staff
  • Record and share children's progress with parents and carers
  • Support and guide the nursery team to deliver quality learning
  • Maintain safety, hygiene, and safeguarding standards

Requirements:

  • Level 3 or higher Early Years qualification (essential)
  • Experience working with children, preferably in a leadership role

  • Effective communication skills with children and adults
  • Strong knowledge of Safeguarding, Child Protection, and Early Years Framework
