Job summary

The Old Station Nursery is seeking a Deputy Nursery Manager in Faversham to support the Nursery Manager and lead day-to-day life in the setting. You’ll be closely involved in care and learning, guiding staff in delivering high-quality early years practice.

You should bring Level 3 Early Years qualifications and experience in EYFS with safeguarding knowledge, plus a collaborative leadership style to help families and children thrive. Sponsorship is not available for this role.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Level 3 Early Years qualification.
• Experience in Early Years settings and a sound understanding of the EYFS and safeguarding.
• Ability to lead by example, support others, and adapt to different ideas and perspectives.

Responsibilities

• Support and mentor colleagues to build confidence and deliver high-quality care and education.
• Assist Nursery Manager to run the nursery daily, acting in their absence when needed.
• Guide delivery of the EYFS through play and learning tailored to each child’s interests, strengths, and needs.
• Build trusting relationships with families and collaborate with external professionals to support development.
• Keep safeguarding, safety, and wellbeing at the heart of decisions.
• Create a welcoming, inclusive environment where every child, family, and colleague feels they belong.
• Provide constructive feedback and help the team translate learning into better practice.
