About Second Steps Nursery:

At Second Steps, we care for up to 106 children, from 6 weeks to 5 years old. Our spacious outdoor area provides a safe, exciting space for children to explore and engage in play, with resources and equipment designed for all ages. We believe that children's interests should be the driving force behind their daily activities, and we love incorporating fun group games like parachute play and ball games to inspire creativity and teamwork. It's all about making each day meaningful and engaging for our little learners.

Your Key Responsibilities:

1. Take full responsibility for staffing, recruitment, induction, training, and development, ensuring a highly skilled and motivated team.
2. Implement and manage systems for accurate reporting, monitoring, and tracking progress.
3. Oversee occupancy levels, financial budgets, and ensure we meet targets and goals.
4. Maintain accuracy and integrity within the Connect Childcare database system.
5. Ensure extracurricular activities and play opportunities align with the EYFS framework.
6. Ensure all rooms and areas adhere to staff ratios and appropriate staff deployment.
7. Safeguard the children and ensure a safe, supportive environment for all.
8. Lead the delivery of the EYFS curriculum with passion and creativity, ensuring each child's developmental needs are met.
9. Work closely with external professionals to provide the best outcomes for children.
10. Collaborate with the Nursery SENDCo in all areas related to special educational needs and disability.
11. Oversee the safer recruitment process, ensuring every team member is fully vetted.
12. Manage staff rotas and registers for smooth operations.
13. Provide clear policies and procedures, offering continuous support to your team.
14. Prioritize the health and well-being of all children within the nursery, ensuring they feel safe and valued.
