Job Title: Deputy Medical Engineering Manager
Location: Oxfordshire
Salary: up to £45,000 + £5,000 car allowance
Contract Type: Permanent

About the Role:

Our key client is seeking a highly organised and proactive individual to join our team as a Deputy Medical Engineering Manager. This key role will support and deputise for the Medical Engineering Manager in the operational delivery and performance management of the Medical Engineering team, covering a broad range of high-value and complex Radiology and Radiotherapy equipment including CT scanners and Linear Accelerators.


Key Responsibilities:
  1. Operational Management:
    Support day-to-day operations of the Medical Engineering contract, ensuring service continuity and equipment availability.
    Coordinate and manage planned preventative maintenance schedules, equipment upgrades, and replacements in collaboration with service providers and suppliers.
    Ensure service delivery meets all contractual performance standards and service level agreements (SLAs).
    Respond to and resolve operational challenges to minimise downtime and disruption.
  2. Procurement Support:
    Assist in the procurement and replacement of large-scale medical equipment, ensuring compliance with regulations and contractual obligations.
  3. Performance Monitoring & Reporting:
    Contribute to the monitoring and evaluation of supplier performance against agreed KPIs and SLAs.
    Maintain accurate records and produce reports to support performance reviews and audits.
Person Specification:
  1. Experience managing or supporting large-scale contracts, ideally within Medical Engineering, healthcare, or a clinical/technical environment.
  2. A clinical background is advantageous.
  3. Strong knowledge of medical equipment maintenance, including understanding of maintenance schedules, equipment compliance, and service delivery in regulated environments.
  4. Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  5. Ability to build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and service partners.
