Job summary

Sgscare is seeking a Deputy Manager for a 3-bed Children’s Residential Home in Chippenham. The role involves leading a small team, delivering therapeutic care, and ensuring safeguarding and regulatory compliance. A Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare is essential, with Level 5 Leadership preferred or to be pursued.

A full UK driving licence is required. The position offers a base salary of 34,000–38,000 pounds, with potential take-home up to 41,640 including sleep-ins, and a 42-hour weekly

Qualifications

• Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare is essential.
• Level 5 Leadership & Management qualification or willingness to work towards (supported by client).
• Minimum of one year’s experience in an Ofsted Registered Children's Residential Home.
• Good understanding of Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 and safeguarding.

Responsibilities

• Support the Registered Manager with daily running of the home.
• Lead and mentor the staff team.
• Complete supervisions, inductions and performance support.
• Promote therapeutic and trauma-informed practice throughout the home.
• Support the development of Care Plans, Risk Assessments and Behaviour Support Plans.
• Maintain high standards of safeguarding, compliance and record keeping.
