Job summary

Jarrodean Healthcare Recruitment is seeking a Band 6 Deputy Manager for the Severe & Profound Adult Learning Disabilities Residential Home team on the island of Guernsey, Channel Islands. The role supports the Service Manager in delivering high standards of care to individuals with complex needs.

Applicants should hold full UK professional registration (NMC/Social Work/CAP) and have post-graduate leadership experience in learning disabilities, plus a recognised mentorship/teaching qualification

Qualifications

• UK professional registration is required.
• Post-graduate experience leading a Learning Disabilities service at senior Band 5 or Band 6-equivalent level.
• Completion of a recognised Teaching and Assessing/Mentorship qualification.
• UK driving licence is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and guide staff in assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care.
• Act as deputy to the Service Manager and cover absent manager.
• Participate in recruitment and staff development activities.

Applications are invited from commited and experienced Registered Nurses, Allied Health Professionals or Social Workers tojoin theSevere & Profound Adult Learning Disabilities Residential Home team asBand 6 Deputy Managerwithin the Adult Learning Disabilites Service on the beautiful Island of Guernsey, in the Channel Islands.
This Home provides supportto service users with severe and profound learning disabilities, complex physical and sensory disabilities, and behaviour that challenge within a community setting,including those who require 24 hour care.

As Deputy Manager, in supporting the Service Manager you will:

• undertake the assessment of service users with complex needs.
• guide, advise and direct other staff in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care received by service users.
• contribute to the recruitment and retention of team members
• undertake the professional development review process with identified team members. Support staff with performance issues developing plan to address developmental needs.
• act as a professional role model for junior staff, promoting high standards of practice and strong professional values.
• act up as necessary in the absence of the manager.

Please note; Guernsey has adopted the AfC banding system, but have applied their own salary scale.
The Guernsey Band 6 salary rangeis£47,860 to £64,615 plus an annual bonus of £1,747 and higher unsocial hours enhancements; 36% evening/Saturday and 72% Sunday/BH.
Annual leave starts at 36 days up to 42 days with full credit for NHS or Local Authority service for annual leave and sick leave

Person requirements:

• Registered Nurse, Social Worker or Allied Health Profesional with full UK professional registration.
• Post-graduate experience leading a Learning Disabilites service at senior Band 5 or Band 6-equivalent level.
• Completion of a recognised Teaching and Assessing/Mentorship qualification.
  To hold a UK driving licence.
