Job Opportunity: Deputy Manager – Residential Children’s Home
We are seeking a passionate Deputy Manager to join an established provider in Leaving Care & Fostering, now expanding into Residential Children’s Care. This full-time, permanent role offers a salary of £34,282 per year and the opportunity to shape a new 4-bed children’s home alongside the Registered Manager. Be part of a dynamic team, contribute to a progressive service, and support children in achieving their aspirations in a therapeutic environment.
Key Details:
* Location: Billinge, Merseyside
* Home: A new 4-bed residential children’s home focused on supporting children and young people’s unique journeys.
* Role Overview: Work as a ‘dynamic duo’ with the Registered Manager to develop a therapeutic home, ensuring compliance with statutory standards (e.g., Children Acts 1989 & 2004, Care Standards Act 2000, Children’s Homes Regulations 2015). Promote children’s welfare, education, and life skills, and safeguard them from harm. Support staff management, recruitment, induction, supervision, and development. Assist with budgets, rotas, on-call schedules, and administrative duties, including reports for directors and inspectorates. Participate in care planning, contextual safeguarding, and key meetings. Ensure child protection protocols and effective team communication.
* Career Growth: Access the Leadership Academy for skill development with potential progression to Registered Manager.
Essential Requirements:
* Qualification & Experience: Minimum Level 3 NVQ/Diploma in Health and Social Care (Children and Young People) or equivalent; willingness to complete Diploma Level 5 in Leadership and Management. At least 2 years in a residential children’s provision (1 year preferred).
* Skills & Commitment: Strong communication, team support, and leadership skills with a ‘can do’ attitude. Resilient, flexible, and dedicated to safeguarding, professionalism, and therapeutic care. Computer literate; ideally knowledgeable in mental health, attachment, trauma, and the PACE model.
* Passion & Licence: Passion for empowering children; valid driving licence (required).
