Job summary

Lifeways Group is seeking a Deputy Manager to join two residential homes supporting individuals with complex learning disabilities. You will work with the Registered Manager and leadership team to deliver outstanding, person-centred care.

Lead teams, drive quality and compliance, support recruitment and governance, and step in during the Registered Manager’s absence to ensure continuity and a positive, compassionate workplace.

Qualifications

  • Level 3 Health & Social Care required; Level 5 desirable or willingness to work towards it.
  • Experience in operational and people management in health & social care.
  • Experience supporting people with learning disabilities, autism or complex needs.
  • Good understanding of CQC standards and quality care delivery.
  • Valid UK driver’s licence and willingness to travel locally.
  • Passion for quality care and leading by example.

Job description

We’re looking for an experienced and passionate Deputy Manager to join a dedicated team supporting individuals with complex learning disabilities across two residential homes, supporting a total of 11 people.

About the Role

This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious care professional to play a key role in the day-to-day leadership of the services, working closely with the Registered Manager and wider leadership team to ensure the people we support receive outstanding, person-centred care.

Responsibilities
  • Support the Registered Manager in the effective day-to-day running of both services
  • Lead, coach and motivate colleagues to deliver high-quality, person-centred support
  • Help ensure the people we support receive safe, compassionate and empowering care
  • Support the implementation of quality and governance processes and contribute to continuous improvement
  • Assist with audits, care planning, safeguarding and compliance activity
  • Build positive relationships with families, professionals and the wider community
  • Support the Registered Manager with recruitment, induction, supervision and performance management
  • Create a positive and empowering culture where colleagues feel valued and the people we support can flourish
  • Step up and take responsibility for the services in the Registered Manager’s absence
Qualifications
  • A minimum Level 3 qualification in Health & Social Care, with Level 5 desirable or a willingness to work towards it
Required Skills
  • Strong experience in operational and people management within health and social care
