Job description

Deputy Manager Children s Residential Home
Location: Swadlincote, Derbyshire
Salary: £15.50 per hour plus £70 per sleep in. Equating to £37,348 (8 sleeps per month) per annum
Hours: Full-Time Permanent

Do you have hands-on experience in an Ofsted-regulated children s home and a passion for supporting young people to thrive? Are you ready to step into a leadership role where you can truly make a difference?

We are looking for a committed and proactive Deputy Manager to support the Registered Manager in the effective day-to-day running of our children s residential home. Please note: experience of working in an Ofsted-regulated home is essential for this role.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a senior residential practitioner or current Deputy looking to develop their leadership skills and contribute to a high-quality, child-focused service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Registered Manager in all aspects of managing the home, ensuring compliance with Ofsted and the Children s Homes Regulations.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to staff, promoting best practice and a consistent, nurturing environment.
  • Assist with care planning, safeguarding and quality assurance processes.
  • Take on management duties in the absence of the Registered Manager.
  • Build strong working relationships with external professionals, families and the wider care team.

Essential Requirements:

  • Experience working in an Ofsted-regulated children s residential setting is essential.
  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
  • Level 5 desirable or willingness to work towards.
  • Sound knowledge of safeguarding, care regulations and relevant legislation.
  • Leadership qualities with a supportive and resilient approach.
  • A strong commitment to achieving positive outcomes for children and young people.
