Job description

Deputy Manager - Children's Residential Home (2-Bedded)

Location: Enfield, London

Salary: £38,000 - £42,000 per year (depending on experience and qualifications)

Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week + on-call duties

We're looking for a Deputy Manager to support the Registered Manager in running a new 2-bed children's home in Enfield. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape a nurturing, therapeutic environment from the very beginning - putting children's needs, safety, and emotional wellbeing first.

About the Organisation

We're a growing and forward-thinking care provider focused on creating stable, caring homes for children aged 7 to 17. With services already established across London and the South West, our approach centres on building strong relationships and supporting recovery from trauma, neglect, and early adversity. We see potential in every child, not just the challenges they face.

Your Role

As Deputy Manager, you'll play a key part in leading the home day to day, ensuring the team delivers high-quality, child-centred care. You will:

  • Support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of the home
  • Help oversee the staff team, including supervision, rota planning and training
  • Promote a therapeutic, structured, and safe environment for the children
  • Lead on safeguarding, care planning and emotional support
  • Work closely with social workers, schools, health teams and local authorities
  • Help maintain compliance with Ofsted and the Children's Homes Regulations 2015

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who is passionate about providing safe and supportive care for children and young people. You should have:

  • At least 3 years' experience in residential childcare, including supervisory responsibilities
  • A Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (essential)
  • Ideally working towards or interested in undertaking a Level 5 qualification
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding, trauma-informed support and emotional resilience
  • Confidence in supporting and motivating others in a care setting
